In the event of any information loss, you want to have the best team on the job, as there is no such thing as a second chance in data recovery. We invest significant resources in research and development to provide our customers with the most professional and up-to-date data recovery service.

What is data recovery?

Data recovery is a process of retrieving inaccessible, lost, corrupted, damaged, or formatted data from a digital storage device such as a hard or SSD drive when the data stored in them cannot be accessed in the usual way. Recovery may be required due to physical damage to the storage devices or logical damage to the file system that prevents files from being accessed.

What are the types of failures that could occur?

In our field, we distinguish between the two main types of malfunctions:

  • Logical faults – where the media itself is functioning, and the failure is in the file system (e.g. NTFS, FAT), the internal structure of the files, or intentional or unintentional deletion events.
  • Physical malfunctions – where the media is physically damaged due to wear and tear, electronic failure, internal damage, and extreme events such as fire damage or flooding.

How will I receive my recovered information?

After a successful data recovery process, you can bring or ship us a hard disk of any kind, or buy a hard drive at a cost from us (we keep an inventory of all manufacturers and sizes). For anything under 20GB, we can also send you a download link via email that contains the recovered files.

How long does it take to recover my data?

The typical recovery process takes about 3-5 business days. In severe cases, it will take 5-10 business days, and in very rare circumstances, over 10 days.

Do you store the backup of my information?

We undertake to maintain a backup of the data recovered for up to 14 days from the date of delivery of the material to the customer. After 14 days, the data is irreversibly destroyed

Why is data recovery so expensive sometimes?

It can be expensive because we employ only highly trained, certified, and experienced data recovery specialists while using the most advanced and cutting edge data recovery equipment to get the job done. That being said, we keep our prices as low as possible to benefit our clients. We are committed to providing them with the most personal and professional service available in Canada.

I only need to recover a few files. Will this affect the price of my data's recovery?

Imagine recovering your data as breaking into a protected vault – it doesn’t matter how many items are stored in the vault, the effort to break in is the same.

In most data recovery cases, we extract all/most of the information from a drive with the same effort. We do not quote a recovery based on the number of files; therefore, in most cases, the amount of data does not affect the recovery price.

Is the initial evaluation free?

We are proud to offer a completely free evaluation process, with no strings attached. In most cases, our team will complete the evaluation within 48 hours, and you will be contacted with a quote.

Do you do house calls?

We certainly do! In some situations (legal restraints or operational needs) the device to be recovered cannot leave the premises of your home or business. If that is the case, our mobile lab can easily be deployed at your location to provide you with the same great service in the comfort of your home or office.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit cards or e-transfer.

Will you always be able to recover my data?

There is no 100% guarantee, although our recovery rates are very high. There are rare occasions in which data recovery is not possible, often due to severe platter damage or self-recovery attempts.

Will my data be kept confidential?

We guarantee the utmost levels of privacy and security to our clients. The equipment used for data recovery is never connected to the Internet, we keep the hard drives in a secure room armed with a high-quality lock and monitored alarm system, and our experts are signed on an NDA agreement.

How should I pack my drive for shipping?

The drive should be packed in the safest way possible, to prevent potential damage during the shipment. Usage of bubble wrap and other soft packing material is highly encouraged. The drive should be shipped in a small box or a container, which will prevent the drive from tilting inside during the shipment.

What if I can't reach your drop-in/drop-off location?

If our drop-off locations are too far away from your home or office, we will send a courier to pick up the drive from you. The pick-up is free of charge and part of our service.
