What computers does it support?
Windows 10 and 11, and macOS. The app is small and runs quietly in the background.
Does it slow my computer down?
Backups run in the background and only send what changed. The very first backup of a large folder can take several hours; after that, nightly runs are usually minutes.
Who can read my files?
Your files are encrypted on your computer before upload and stay encrypted in transit and in storage. Only your paired computers decrypt them when you restore. We are the service that holds your account and your storage, so we take that responsibility seriously; see our security page for exactly how it works.
Where are my backups stored?
In Canada. Your backups are kept in a Canadian data centre, encrypted on your computer before upload and encrypted in transit and at rest.
What if my hard drive or SSD dies?
Replace the drive or get a new computer, install the app, pair it to your account and restore everything. Your backups never lived only on the drive that failed.
How long do you keep old versions?
Thirty days. Any backup made in the last 30 days can be restored in full or file by file.
Can I back up more than one computer?
Yes. One account covers all your computers and they share the plan's storage.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. Starter, Basic and Plus come with a free 30-day trial, and no credit card is needed to start. If you do nothing at the end of the trial, backups pause and your data stays available for a month so you can decide.
How do I cancel?
From your account page, any time. Your backups remain available for 30 days after cancellation so you can download anything you need.
